Women’s Coordinator Role:
As a Women’s Project Coordinator, you will be based in our office in Islington and also provide outreach in clinics. You will coordinate and facilitate a range of groups that address women-specific issues such as: relationships, sexual, reproductive and maternal health, wellbeing, gender or intimate partner violence, nutrition and exercise, and taking care of yourself on a budget. You will work collaboratively with organisations in and outside the HIV sector and manage a small team of peer support volunteers and will be supported by a steering group. Your role will ensure that women accessing 1-2-1 and group support and workshops can develop the skills to make the most out of life.
Training and Support:
Full training from Positively UK’s peer mentoring programme, leading to a Level 2 qualification in Mentoring, along with supervision and on-going professional development.
Successful candidates will be/have:
- A woman and living with HIV comfortable sharing your experience of living with HIV with other women with HIV and professionals in the health and HIV sector
- Experience of volunteering and knowledge of the charity sector and/or HIV-specific services
- Competence in MS office, good writing skills and phone manner
- Good listener and a good comprehension of working with vulnerable clients who have experienced trauma.
